ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:

• MS or PhD; Chemical, Materials or ME

EXPERIENCE:

• At least 10 years experience in coating development is required.
  • Liquid/Solution
  • Dispersion
  • Slurry
  • Vapor (Sputtering/CVD)

• A track record of excellence in developing coated products and low cost coating processes is essential.
  • Web coating
  • Roll to roll sheet coating
  • Battery coatings
  • Conformal coatings
  • Electro deposition

• Demonstrated expertise in process and equipment development is required.
  • Pilot scale equipment
  • Pilot scale production

• Strong interpersonal and project leadership skills are also needed.

• High level of drive and flexibility to work in a rapidly developing entrepreneurial environment, with a strong hands-on focus.

• Resourceful problem solver with excellent interaction skills, and capable of rapidly integrating R&D results into a practical manufacturing process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

GENERAL:

• The Coating Scientist will be a technical leader in an aggressive product development effort to develop and commercialize next generation portable power supplies.

• As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Coating Scientist will have broad responsibility for the development of a novel manufacturing technology.

SPECIFIC:

• Product and process development for novel power supply systems to enable low-cost manufacturing.

• Optimization of materials and processes to achieve and sustain world leadership levels of power supply performance.

• Technology transfer to support manufacturing technology development and process scale-up.
