ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:
- BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering
EXPERIENCE:
Required
- 4 years of engineering experience in a product development capacity.
- Experience with development of microcontroller-based mixed signal boards or subsystems.
- Familiarity with documentation requirements associated with medical products.
- Demonstrated use of schematic capture tools and electrical simulation tools.
- This position requires unrestricted US work authorization, without sponsorship, at time of hire.
Desired
- Two years experience in development of microprocessor-based circuit boards and programmable logic.
- Two years experience in development of general analog based circuit boards including the use of simulation and schematic capture tools.
- Work effectively at component, subassembly, and system levels.
- Demonstrated design experience with electronic medical products.
- Ability to apply mathematics and physics to solve real world problems.
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbal in a team-oriented environment.
- Thrive and succeed in a team-based work environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General:
- This position is in the Anesthesia Engineering Segment of R&D. The group is responsible for the development and support of subsystems and anesthesia systems.
- This position develops, tests, and supports electro-mechanical and electronic designs with an emphasis on sensors, embedded processors, digital circuitry, and analog circuitry in our life support products.
Specific:
- Develop, test, and document electronic subsystems and circuit boards related to:
- New product introduction
- Cost reduction, or feature enhancement for Life Support Systems products with emphasis on:
- Digital circuitry including memory
- Programmable logic
- Microcontrollers
- Analog circuitry including selection and interfaces to medical sensors
- Create design specifications, perform design tradeoffs, and simulate solutions.
- Generate test specifications, execute tests, interpret, and document results.
- Confirm design reliability through effective test plans, test fixtures, and thorough testing.
- Work with external suppliers and internal operations engineering on design for manufacturability and testability.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including generation of on FMEA and detailed Hazard analyses.
- Define detailed tasks within a general engineering assignment and aggressively drive them forward.
