ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:

• BS Mechanical Engineering

EXPERIENCE:

• 3-8 years minimum of related work experience (including 1-2 years of solid design experience).

• Product design and manufacturing experience and familiarity with computer-based engineering analysis tools required.

• Plastics and production metal design experience expected.

• Experience with 3D CAD modeling tools required, Pro-Engineer preferred.

• Experience designing products for high volume consumer markets preferred with emphasis on consumer electronics and/or battery product packaging.

• Must have solid communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work creatively, both independently and as a project team member, to generate unique solutions to engineering design problems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• As a Mechanical Engineer in the Systems Design Group, your responsibilities will include mechanical design and analysis of complex parts, assemblies, and products for the consumer, OEM, and military markets.

• You will utilize three-dimensional visualization and modeling skills to develop and evaluate new ideas for technologies, products, product elements, and assembly processes from concept through production launch and beyond.

• This includes designing, prototyping, and "hands-on" testing of product elements, and presenting the results at team and project meetings.

• Working with the project team, support groups, and outside resources, you will analyze and recommend design options and or changes to existing products for improved manufacturability, reliability, durability, performance, and cost.

• You will also collaborate with team members to generate and document "best practices" guidelines related to the mechanical engineering work performed within the group.
