ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:
- BS minimum, MS preferred; Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 6+ years embedded software design and development for complex systems or computerized products.
- Demonstrated experience in real-time signal processing using C, C++ and/or assembly languages.
- Theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience of key DSP concepts like FIR, IIR, window filters; convolution & correlation techniques.
Desired:
- At least two years experience in medical device industry or equivalent safety critical industry.
- Green Belt Six Sigma certification.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485. Medical devices FDR QSR (21 CFR 820).
- Experience developing software under commercial Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
- Experience in signal processing hardware.
- Experience in algorithm development on industry standard DSP processors.
- Proven analytical, interpersonal, communication, organization, planning and leadership skills. Process focus and continuous improvement orientation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop world-class, real-time, digital signal-processing algorithms for our next generation medical monitoring products.
- Evaluate existing algorithms from current DSP platforms to ensure complete capture of systems requirements.
- Translate requirements into a robust software design within the framework developed by the Lead System Designers.
- Implement, test, verify, and document the algorithms to ensure requirements are met.
- Work with Lead System Designers to integrate algorithms into embedded RTOS environment.
- Track status and communicate progress effectively to LSD, LPI and engineering manager.
