ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:

• PhD in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• Minimum of 7 years post graduate experience.

• Demonstrated expertise, depth of knowledge, experimental and simulation skills in at least one x-ray source subcomponent (eg. Cathode, target, electron optics, etc).

• Demonstrated ability to identify and conduct critical experiments in x-ray source development.

• Demonstrated ability to identify appropriate analysis methods & software tools, and to develop/integrate/use them to solve technical problems.

• Demonstrated experience in providing technical leadership within large multi-disciplinary programs.

• Familiarity with one the following applications areas- healthcare diagnostic imaging, security and industrial inspection.

Desired:

• Demonstrated experience in writing and winning government grants.

• Knowledge of imaging applications and specifications.

• Strong analytic, experimental, and problem solving skills.

• Highly innovative, self-motivated, able to work with experts in diverse fields.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for developing technology for next generation x-ray sources: from innovation to prototyping.

• Lead and contribute to all aspects of the research of x-ray source technology- including fundamental innovation, project planning, requirements definition, design and modeling, and experimental validation.

• Understand the key technical factors and needs that will lead to new product offerings by collaborating with business counterparts, customers and other experts.

• Identify, conduct, and interpret critical experiments to validate concepts and present results to senior management.

• Provide technical guidance for designing and prototyping x-ray source components, working closely with a multi-disciplinary team.

• Establish collaborations with external partners including government agencies to strategically develop technology with business alignment.
