ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:
- MS minimum, PhD preferred in Physics or Electrical Engineering
EXPERIENCE:
- 10-15 years direct related experience in particle detector and instrumentation or related fields (software or bio-instrumentation) of expertise.
- Demonstrated leader with ability to manage technical projects.
- Scientific research background with good relevant technical knowledge.
- Ability to collaborate and broker ideas and concepts to project community.
- Independent decision maker with ability to lead other scientists and engineers in defining goals and implementing activities to realize the goals.
- Excellent communicator both orally and in writing.
- Hands on team leader able to effectively delegate and provide opportunities to other team members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
GENERAL:
- This company seeks an exceptionally qualified Physicist/Electrical Engineer with a broad background in particle detectors and instrumentation to work on a diverse mix of projects.
- The successful candidate would work on a wide range of detector instrumentation areas, including:
- Astronomy
- Cosmology
- Materials science
- Nuclear and particle physics
SPECIFIC:
- Conduct experimental, analytical and computational research, as needed, in support of the design, performance optimization and operation of a variety of instrumentation electronics technology for particle accelerators, particle detectors and other applications.
- Interact and collaborate with physicists, engineers and designers to assist in development of technical designs based on the optimization of system parameters, cost and schedule requirements.
- Responsible for adherence to environment, health, and safety aspects of the work.
